Welcome to SJR Powersports

We are Michiana’s newest independent powersports dealership. We opened in May of 2021 and have been repairing motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs for the past several years as SJR Powersports. With all 3 of the founding members having 30+ years of experience in this industry, there is not much we can’t do to help you with your ride. We also offer parts and accessories in stock and the ability to order any parts or accessories, whether they be aftermarket or OEM. In 2023 we added sales of pre-owned powersports to our game! We look forward to helping Michiana for years to come with their powersports needs!

Our Story

It was in the early 1990s when all 3 owners of SJR started their careers in the powersports industry in separate locations. We met each other at a point in the late 1990s when we worked together at a local Elkhart dealership. In the early 2000s we all chose different paths that would lead us in different directions but keep us close to our roots. We had talked about the possibility of starting our own powersports dealership for years and in January of 2021 we sat down and made a plan to make that happen. We open on May 1st and SJR will bring a level of professionalism and customer care above and beyond customer expectations. Our staff has both training and, more importantly, real world experience in American V-Twin and metric bikes, and off-road vehicles. We look forward to serving you for years to come!

The Team Behind SJR

SCOTT ALLISON

Scott has experience at multiple powersports dealerships. He has been a lead technician and has vast experience in both street and off-road vehicles. Speaking of off-road vehicles, at one point in his career, Scott worked at the world famous AM General off-road course. Most recently Scott was a Technical Service Manager for Suzuki Motors of America where he provided technical support for over 100 dealers in the Midwest along with providing technical phone support for the entire US. Scott’s passion for many years now has been racing short course off-road trucks. He is ready to serve you with any of your powersports needs!

JASON LEWIS

Jason started his career working the parts department at a local Elkhart dealership. From there he moved on to service writer and soon after became the Service Manager. Jason spent the next decade plus building relationships in the Michiana area with people needing their machines serviced. His personable demeanor and technical knowledge served him well while serving his customers. From there, he took on the role of GM and was involved in all the details of running a multi-line dealership. Over 3 decades, Jason has had first hand experience in the parts, sales, service, and finance departments. Jason is an avid rider, both on road and off and can’t wait to help you do the same!

ROBBIE HOWARD

After completing tech school at MMI, Robbie placed 3rd in the nation at the VICA competition for small engine repair. He then worked at several dealerships over the next decade. In the early 2000s Robbie moved to Las Vegas to pursue his passion. He quickly climbed the ladder and became a master technician with one of the biggest dealer conglomerates in the US. In 2012 he moved on to Harley Davidson of Dallas. He quickly rose to the top level tech there and was known for his electrical diagnosis abilities and maintaining the Dallas police bikes. A couple years ago, Rob moved back to be near family, but he loves working on bikes and is ready to serve you and your powersports needs!
